#7 Sometimes the smallest gestures leave the biggest impression.

This photo was taken while Matthew Hammond was filming some of my videos.
At first glance, it probably looks as though I'm simply sitting in front of a camera.
What you don't see is everything happening behind the scenes.
A gentle reminder to slow down, a suggestion to move my chair a little, adjusting the lighting, politely suggesting "another take", or controlling a fit of giggles!
It reminded me that very few of us achieve our best completely on our own.
Sometimes we all need someone to encourage us, challenge us, share a different perspective or simply create the conditions where we can succeed.
That made me think about the workplaces I've most enjoyed being part of over the years.
The strongest cultures were built by people who quietly supported one another. People who shared their strengths, celebrated each other's successes and were always willing to lend a hand.
I was also reminded of something so simple, yet so powerful.
A few years ago, someone gave me a small card with just three words written inside:
"I appreciate you."
It probably took less than a minute to write, but I've never forgotten how it made me feel.
Sometimes the smallest gestures really do leave the biggest impression.
A few kind words.
A thank you.
A note of encouragement.
Often, it's those everyday moments that help people feel seen, valued and appreciated, and that's where great workplace cultures begin.
So today, perhaps take a moment to let someone know the difference they've made.
You never know how much they might need to hear it.
