#5 The Numbers That Really Matter

My notebook came with me to London this weekend, as it nearly always does. I wasn't planning to work, but ideas have a habit of appearing when I least expect them!
Over the course of a few days, I found myself literally surrounded by numbers. There were everywhere.
England lost 2–1 against Argentina .
ABBA Voyage entertained 1000s of people, yet I was left wondering just how many individuals were behind the performance, each playing their part to create something unforgettable.
A wonderful afternoon tea in a beautiful hotel, where every small detail was made possible by people working together behind the scenes. At least 8 different team members looked after us over the course of 90 minutes.
This week also marks 5 weeks of Melon Musings , always my favorite post of the week 🥳
As a new business owner, I've caught myself measuring progress again through numbers - impressions, comments, connections and conversations.
It immediately reminded me of another time in my life when numbers were at the centre of everything....
When my children were babies 🩵
My life , and theirs , measured in weeks, pounds and ounces. Every tiny milestone felt significant.
And so today , as my eldest son turns 27, suddenly those LinkedIn numbers don't seem quite so important.
They have their place, of course, but they don't tell us who we've inspired or whose day we've made just a little bit better.
The numbers will always change.
But the people we care about are the ones who give those numbers meaning Have a great weekend 💛
